The region is subtropical and is unique in Europe because it has an average temperature of 18 and approximately 300 sunny days a year. Many tropical trees and plants therefore thrive here, including Avocadoes, Mangos, Chirimoyas to name but a few.. The main attraction of the old town of Nerja is the beautiful Balcon De Europe, a palm tree lined square flanked by pavement cafes that juts out to sea. It has very cosmopolitan feel enjoyed by street artistes and musicians alike. At the far end of the Balcon there is a circular vantage point with fantastic views of the sea and coastline below. |
